Questions
Good to know.
Why can’t I open HEIC files?
HEIC is the format iPhones use for photos. It is efficient, but many Windows apps, websites and office systems still don’t accept it. JPG works everywhere.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Metvoro decodes HEIC in your browser with the open-source libheif library. Your photos never leave your device.
Does the JPG keep the location?
No. The JPG is drawn from the picture only, so GPS, camera and date details are not copied.
Why does the first photo take longer?
Most browsers can’t read HEIC, so a decoder (about 2 MB) loads the first time. Safari decodes HEIC itself and skips that step.
Curious what your files reveal?
Metvoro can also read the hidden metadata in photos, PDFs and Office files and explain it in plain language.
