How much smaller will my images get?
Phone photos often shrink by 60 to 90%, especially when you also limit the size. Images that are already well compressed shrink less.
Will they look worse?
At 75% and above, most people can’t tell the difference on screen. Lower quality saves more but can blur fine detail.
What about PNG files?
With Smallest, PNGs are saved as WebP, which is much smaller and keeps transparency. Choose Same format to keep PNG; then only limiting the size makes them smaller.
Is metadata removed?
Yes. Compressed files are drawn from the picture only, so EXIF, GPS and camera details are not copied.
