What a photo can say about itself.
- Capture date and time
- The moment the shutter fired, by the device’s clock, with its time zone when recorded. Compared against GPS time when both exist.
- Location
- GPS coordinates, altitude and accuracy. Metvoro tells you plainly when a photo would reveal where it was taken.
- Phone or camera
- Make, model, lens and exposure settings such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
- Editing
- Software that last saved the photo and any editing history left by apps like Lightroom or Photoshop.
- People and ownership
- Artist and copyright fields, creator names, and camera serial numbers that can link photos together.
- AI and provenance labels
- Industry-standard AI-generation labels, AI tool settings saved in PNGs, and Content Credentials (C2PA).

What is EXIF data?
EXIF is the standard format cameras and phones use to store details inside a photo: the device model, lens, exposure settings, date and time, and GPS location if it was enabled.
How can I tell when a photo was taken?
Look for the original capture date (DateTimeOriginal) in the EXIF data. Metvoro shows it with its time zone if the device recorded one, and compares it with the GPS clock when both are present.
Does every photo have a location?
No. Location is only recorded if the camera had location access, and it is often removed when photos are shared through social networks and messaging apps.
Which photo formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG and HEIC, the format iPhones use by default. RAW, WebP and GIF files aren’t supported yet.
